Moving on...
Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:49 am
Well, it's my last week in my current role, I start a new position with a different company in the New Year!!!
No more struggling with ArtiCAD either, I'll be using 2020 Fusion so any tips would be appreciated

Good luck in your new position. You probably wish that you'd given your notice a week earlier

I timed it perfectly! It was 4 weeks notice, so I timed it just right, making sure I got paid for the holidays for the Christmas/New Year shutdown

Hi everyone, I dropped in to ask Daz for some help, so whilst I'm here I thought I'd update you all with how things are going and explain why I've not uploaded any amazing renders...
99% of the renders we produce are white fill 3Ds - the contract market doesn't care for colour drawings unless they want to include them in their sales brochure, in which case they get handed on to someone else to make them pretty. The upside of this is it takes 2 seconds to produce a render - no more twiddling thumbs, making a brew whilst waiting!
Saying that, I still don't like Fusion - I mean it's ok, but it is missing so many nice features that you get with ArtiCAD, but at the same time, even a fully dressed and lit render, in highest quality, only take 30-40 seconds to render.
I hope you all are coping with everything that's going on in the world right now and hasn't affected business too much? Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon!?!?!?!

Retail has been crazy busy since the first lock down, literally non stop. Must be all those people working from home looking at knackered furniture 24/7. It's also been a big boost to the home office side of things. Glad all is well with you Michael.

Thought it was time for an update, seeing that it's been over two years!
The company I was working for went bust in September, but a few of us went over to JJ Ormerod to start up a contracts division there, which has been challenging to say the least. Nearly six months later and we are transitioning from Fusion to Winner (I had been on at the previous company to move to Winner, but decisions there took forever to happen).
Think I'll be looking for another move soon enough though, JJO life isn't for me...
