V21 Build 17

I received this email this evening. Haven't tried anything - just passing on the news.
As usual - all names removed to protect the innocent.

We have Build 17 available on the ArtiCAD website - this is a quick temporary fix for the speed issues we are experiencing. We are awaiting another update to fix some things we have noticed with this patch as well as the long term fix for the speed issue.
 
Please see below -
 
·         Dimensions stay in the same place after you have moved a unit (if you have them switched on) this can be resolved by clicking on the blue house 'mode' to refresh the page - the measurements will then move to where the unit has now moved to.
 
·          You can only move custom worktops by editing the points - there aren't any drag & drop properties available for these at the moment.

Using 17 now. I have just loaded a design but still very slow. Another issue now is that any SketchUp models pick up/ move zone has changed to the side of the object.

With any luck, they'll release a Beta of V21 in a few weeks.

Have you tried changing the setting in the "Edit Global INI" as per this below?

More info on the Sketchup problem as It is okay for me....Either existing ones in saved plans or importing new ones.

You get near the V20 performance but a bug when we move graphics leaves the dimensions where they are... You can just go back into the ini file and change back when you have done planning to refresh them though...  No sorry, as per Pete's first post click on the Home Button to refresh the dims!

I have been working in the Bathroom catalogue all day and the models work ok here. I will check kitchens tomorrow.

That is why you do not see it then...

Go to the member area for existing user and click on the download smaller patch I have highlighted below:

Did that, then you see it's B17. Install and loads as 16. This happened when I installed 16, still showed as 15. Articad came on team viewer and sorted.

Have you both V20 and V21 ArtiCAD's on your machine??

Daz, this is the Sketchup problem I now get (only in kitchens). Not a major problem but some of the movement points are away from the item at it takes a while to find them. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

It's Articad, this was a bug in one of the early beta's. Not sure if it's to do with models stored as favorites or caused by the fix for the buffering problem. Not tried to load a model in from scratch to see if it also does this. Hopefully next week they will have a proper fix in place!

It affects all Sketchup models by the look of it, I downloaded a couple of new ones yesterday to use and they did the same thing.

Thanks for the heads up. Installing a new build on a Saturday? I think i'll wait...

Would it be worth starting a new topic for this to log any build specific issues?

Blimey, yeah that is brave.  Not a bad idea Pete.  Might make sense to have a build specific thread.
