Build 29 now out!
Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:12 am
So Build 29 is here. Spent my usual 5 min having a look, Still getting errors with cornice despite the obstruction proximity tolerance at 200, had to change it to 300. Room skirting also not showing in bedrooms. Closed it back down!
Maybe one day Articad will tell it's customers what's going on and what each build is actually doing!

Yeah and maybe one day Donald Trump will ride off on a Unicorn and set up home with the Tooth Fairy in Never-Never Land.

I updated yesterday, and I honestly can't figure out what's different about it, the same bugs are still there!
So far I've been amending old designs, but I'll be starting a new one today so I'll report back if I notice anything different.

I for one would really appreciate any news on the changes or improvements you find.

Well the only thing I've noticed so far is that for some reason, when you set the mapping origin to world across some windows and doors, it doesn't work. I'm 99% sure it was working fine before the last update...

V21 is a bit more sensitive to how we close off a room with a join...
On a utility room I have been finishing with a wall to meet back up with the first wall element then J for join... which is in fact zero.
Exporting the plan to DXF I notice that the skirting has been extruded backwards so it's inside the wall. to correct it I remove the last wall and let the Join meet up with the first wall and the skirting was drawn correctly.

Sorry Daz,
But if you remove the last wall then re-join is that not doing the same thing? We still have to join to close the room?

Yes full join from Window to wall start.... Instead of (913 wall + join)
Yes, its doing the same thing but will draw the skirting correctly... clearly a Zero Join is causing the skirting to invert so it's back to front inside the wall..

Could someone please remind me why i should close the room with a Join.
I often leave it unclosed (forgetful/idle/easily distracted). Is this bad practice?
Not always but it is best practice as sometimes you can cause a white line letting the white background in...which can affecting tone mapping.
Also it saves you having to mess around with angles and it will always join to the start of the first wall wherever it is in the room..
