Thanks Jayne. Yes all Articad, I don't have the time to do any post render editing. And even if I did, I don't have any software to edit with  Shocked

they all look fantastic. the only thing i would say would be to add a few accessories to bring them to life, it can really help the client buy into living in that space and once the accessories are all set up with correct materials etc, its a doddle to just drop them all in. check out sketchupwarehouse for some great ones Smile

Look great Michael...

The render engine has all the tools to do the post editing which I have banged on about for ages.... like in TC most of the tools are there and once you have set them up once they are saved with the drawing and you don't have to keep resetting them I no longer do any post processing outside of the render engine settings....
Compusoft also has the ability to save tone mapping information which also uses the same render engine as Nathan confirmed!... Maybe in V22 eh...

I have loads of accessories I've downloaded from the sketchup warehouse, along with a few I've made myself (or tweaked someone elses) and even some of the default Articad ones are pretty good. I just can't afford the extra time it takes to put them in there and the additional render times, we are pretty snowed under at the moment, with new enquiries coming out of our ears!

Maybe once I get back to only having to do 2 or 3 designs/quotes per day I'll be able to spend that extra time dressing them up a little Smile

Really nice work Michael!

Couple of questions:

From the floor textures i take it your using v21?  Don't use v21 much yet as it still seems memory hungry to me compared to v20

Flat appliances have always been a bug bear of mine! Articads or sketchups? There are a still a couple of mine on here or kff forum i think. Just need textures assigned to them.

Window views: Are you using a image on a cubic box outside of window or assigning a view to the window view options?

Lit appearance, do you get slow downs using it? If i assign lit appearance to Pendant bulbs i get major slow downs!

Again great work!  Very Happy

I talked to Peter @ Articad re. slow rendering and he confirmed that lit appearance on bulbs etc massively slows it down. My renders were taking almost 2 hours! Think I'll just use photoshop post-render from now on.....

I don't seem to have any memory problems with it now and it is certainly a lot faster than the first few builds. Flooring "out of the box" can still be a little sketchy though, still have to tweak the defaults.

Flat appliances have always been a bug bear of mine! Articads or sketchups? There are a still a couple of mine on here or kff forum i think. Just need textures assigned to them. The USA F/F's and some of the taps are from Sketchup, but the rest are from Articad. I've just started using the AEG and Electrolux models in my drawings as they seem a little more realistic and add some depth. Don't think we'll be shelling out for the new appliance models when they are finally released though!

Window views: Are you using a image on a cubic box outside of window or assigning a view to the window view options? I always assign a view from the window options. Usually the same view though as I don't have time to tweak any more!

Lit appearance, do you get slow downs using it? If i assign lit appearance to Pendant bulbs i get major slow downs! Yes, it does slow it down, but not as much as it did in the first few builds. I'm typically waiting 20-40 mins for a render to complete on; HD, highest, 8x.

Again great work!  Very Happy Thank you!

It wouldn't take as long if the glazed doors were actually available in the catalogue I was using! For some reason, the Georgian beaded option isn't available, so I had to draw the beading in sketchup and sit it in front of the doors.

It's the Sutton range from Aisling, with cockbead detail on the frame.
