opinions please - on the shaker section, is the open space for the hob and the mantle shelf too wide? (its 3m between the tall units and 2.8m inside the recess/splash-back area

Nah, just put a bloody long island infront of it

I did an image for crlquartz a while back which had a big mantle opening and long island - it's a weird angle but the overall room looked nice

It's for my showroom, and we don't have the space for as long of an island in-front. As it would clash with the next display.
The island I currently have runs at a right angle from this display, but the new island might be more of a L shape set up 

Might bring it in a little, but only by maybe 200mm

Mitch, what did you decide on with this layout? Hows the fit going?
