Updating Cornice Profiles for the correct front overhang

ArtiCAD - Updating Cornice Profiles for the correct front overhang.
Just found how to modify the profiles used for Cornice mouldings etc in ArtiCAD. An easy fix to get them to sit nicely over doors and in-frames etc.

This is great Daz, but if you dont use Turbocad/Rhino is there another way of changing this?

You should be able to do it in Sketchup and even on graph paper Jayne

You could even match you own designs Jayne... so they are correct to what you supply to your customers.
Even Serif Page Plus you could work out the point locations...

In theory we could create our own profiles, just duplicate a file and input our own values. Should work with worktops, coving and skirting?

Good stuff Daz! I did suggest to articad that the cornice appeared too far back but as of yet no reply.

Sometimes it could be just the need to think outside the box.
Maybe thinking that all the unit options that tell the cornice where to extrude to was a large task.
Should not affect old designs anyway.... they should be better because my eyes are always drawn to the problem and look it gives when rendered... The GI gets confused and creates some horrid shadows due to it being set back to much.
Not tried it on the worktop profiles yet...

Agreed, but there is the option to bring the plinth in and out. Not a coder so don't know how hard it would be. Anyway I'm sure v21 will be all singing and dancing!!!!

Kudos Daz, you're a star. That's brilliant. Like Minch, I've been asking for this for ages.

As per Chrispod's request here is where you can edit the attachment types that reference the *.pro file names. It is probably best to add new ones at the end of the lists so not to cause the problems opening old drawings. Nothing bad happens if you do decide to change the the names and open an old file as ArtiCAD will just pick the first one available..
Note that I have added the "KBB CAD Test" at the end... the first of the additional profiles over and above the included ones...

Profiles in DropBox

Hi Daz, Just uploaded my Custom Profiles to the DropBox account.
.Pro files and Text files relating to the attachment_types.
Feel free to add instructions or a link to the topic discussing it.
Have you/anyone had any joy with the Arrow worktop edge? Noticed it had been brought up, and i couldn't find a solution. Seems like it would be handy to have Articad disassociate the Base Unit Depth from the worktop depth. Or have the worktop end in-line with the base unit then add the profile onto this.
This affects the Waterfall Edges i have made hence the overhang from door is 40mm, way too much, but bringing it back clips the top edge of the profile.
Regards Chris.

Thanks Chris...
Yes re: worktop overhang.... something I have been playing with... I have changed a few settings so that all worktop profiles use 20mm. I have changed my default Carcass depth to 560mm + 20mm for the worktop slab + 20mm Profile. I have added a Minerva Edge with a 1mm bevel top and bottom which works nicely...as the return are also 20mm so turning off the worktop on the end panels gives me 2mm overhang in the render below:

Can you try one of the Waterfall Edges please Daz? See if it clips the top part of the profile?
