Bespoke Langton Black Matt

Little project just finished. Had a bit of modeling with this one and also needed to show the colour as Black matt. Unfortunately my renders were coming out like grey as the reflection from the sun and room lights was too much on the doors. Tried jet black matt settings but it came out like a cartoon. Had to turn off the sun and room lights and still had to play around in Photoshop with the Nik collection plug in to get the doors looking better!

Yea nightmare, thankfully the Nik add-on uses control points so i could darken the doors without really affecting anything else.

Looks brilliant as always Joe. You couldn't ask for more realism. The Nik tool is pretty good, was having a play with it myself, need to put it into practise now.

Great work as always. I always have trouble using dark grey Stormer doors. Think I need to swat up on my photoshop skills. Youtube PS tutorials here I come!

I think it is picking up to much colour from your Lit Appearance textures...
Be interesting as an experiment try with a solid colour like Cool White 165, 178, 187 RGB for the lit appearance to confirm this...

Just done a quick test and setup a drawing similar to yours Joe...
This is Langton Charcoal.... Although it is a matt finish it does have a reflection... So many different colours on the same door over the net... which is correct??
This is with Lit Appearance Reference Diffuse set to 50, 4 x View2's @ 50, 1 x 1600 x 2000 @160!

[quote="Joe"]Daz, yea those settings def helped. Still had to darken island a little!
Great...
I think due to the island getting most of the light from the large opening and sun hitting the floor in front of it.

I'm doing more and more inframe kitchens now, a lot where the islands they are wanting skirting (front attached) plinths. Whats the easiest way of getting these to show on ArtiCAD like the pictures above?
