Forumotion handles the database and data protection for ALL forums made and hosted on it. If there are any changes that need to be made to remain in compliance, forumotion will make them. There is really nothing you can do personally when it comes to this. I would tell your friend this and tell him that forumotion complies with not only all french laws, but all international laws in the countries it hosts forums in.
