I happened to to come across Fusion 360 while I was looking to build my own inframe bespoke catalogue. The most important factor to me was to be able to create units which could be quickly resized in a vast number of ways parametrically, or in layman's terms by changing the dimensions in a table.
Having come from an engineering background using software such as Solidworks/Solid Edge I knew they could do the job but for what I needed it was huge overkill to purchase or lease a seat and then have the annual maintenance fee which runs into thousands of of pounds per year. Autodesk Fusion 360 caught my eye. After an online tutorial I was almost convinced. Typical Autodesk, it is a well thought out piece and programming. Most of the modelling abilities are wasted for my requirements however I was very quickly able to to produce the parametrically controlled models (prior experience definitely helps!). I purchased a 1 year license for around £260 if I remember correctly. Incidentally it's also great for drawing custom worktops and pretty much anything if you want to make the effort. It's ability to export to Sketchup particularly interested me as I could then furnish my Articad plans with the aforementioned items. A huge bonus!
I personally prefer this software to Sketchup but that's possibly got more to do with my past experience than anything else. If you have used the likes of Solidworks and are looking for a new work flow at a relatively low cost then I would definitely look to Fusion to scratch that itch.
If you have any questions regarding Fusion 360 feel free to get in touch.
Cheers
