I've broken my glass
Sat Apr 28, 2018 3:43 pm
So my render looks shite before I've even started.
What have I done to the glass on the bi-folds? the colours/tectures are the same as the window (I think) and yet it doesn't render the same?
I also have the long glass section in the ceiling to drawer - any ideas how to make that look better?
It's currently a flat Velux running up to the window, I what then going to fill in the step with cubic boxes for the ceiling either side.

Also any way to make the frame on the bi-fold slimmer?
this is a high end modern extension with nice bi-folds and the Articad ones are chunky AF

Are you using lit appearance for the view in the bifold door?
If so it will need to be far brighter (higher diffuse value), probably by 5 x than the tall window.

You could use 5 windows instead for speed, turn off skirting.
Or 5 doors and use space minus values to overlap each of them. on 4 of them make the handle material "Air" so they are not seen when rendered..

Windows look better and will do the job.
and thanks on the lit appearance - of course it would have needed to be brighter. Having a dumb 5 mins

Maybe not the best option but I use windows set to floor. Seems to do the trick for me.

Bloody hell. Thought I would write a few words of wisdom and by the time I pressed send you had already suggested it. I'll go back in my hole now.

Looks great although I think your window view lit appearance would look better a bit brighter.... maybe the overhead is to bright so is clamping those...
Find attached a quick setup showing the doors overlapping... it is a shame the air material on the door handles shows what appear to be holes LOL... but you get the idea...
