What width and height do you need?.... and radius?

Well Jayne...
This is one way to use ArtiCAD to make your custom curved T&G panel...
Edit.... I say obviously way to much.... Obviously in this video LOL...

By Gosh Daz, that is absolutely, an inspired piece of lateral thinking! I thought you were going to make up a sketchup model with your skilz. I thought maybe you could squash a cylinder but you can't determine the curve. Brilliant work!Darrel wrote:Well Jayne...

Why not simply make it as a custom panel and use displacement bump? Make/use a texture with 4 equal clean black lines will do the same thing in about 30 seconds I did it a few years ago.
As the image isnt high detail just 4 black lines the displacement shouldn't slow down the render that much

It might not on your machine Charles but Displacement on mine and other users crawls along as Embree cannot be use with it. Bump instead of Displacement might work but not as realistic for speed...

You like it then.... sometimes we have to think outside the box to accomplish something eh...

Daz - thanks so much, you have saved me hours of work skittering around with Sketchup. I would never have even considered this as a method!

That's the Tom Howley showroom in Tunbridge Wells (near me), I've copied that design a couple of times now - not sold one yet (one design change, one lost the sale).
I just did the custom panel, with T+G texture with bump, by the time you draw the stool in front it can barely be seen in the renders anyway.

Do you have any images mitch?
I've now got this how i wanted it, imported into sketchup (DXF) to add on a worktop and now want to import back into articad. However, although to correct scale in sketchup, when I import into Articad the model is huge. See screenshot:
any suggestions!? I've tried googling the answer

Why do you need to go to Sketchup Jayne.... Would not Custom worktops in ArtiCAD and per this video:

Yeah Daz thats what i'm doing now. To be honest I just wanted the Sketchup practise, want to start using it more to create bespoke models etc and want to get more familiar with it but really struggling to know where im going wrong,

It probably is reverse normals of the DXF import Jayne why you cannot see it... If you scale it down to the size you want finish importing it and do a low quality test render as this forces doublesided so could show the geometry...
You can check and rescale in Sketchup if you want to practice....I bet it has scaled it to inches as DXF often default to the US measures by default......

Try this texture.... 440 x 440 size should close to the T&G default groove spacing..
