V21 Material Editor
Fri May 25, 2018 2:34 pm
Has anyone had much experience with the V21 material editor?
Ive selected an island and looking to change all the units (carcass, doors, hlstrips, plinths etc) to a different colour.
Do i have to select each individual component for each base unit and change them or is there a quicker way?

Have you selected just the island then right click for materials?, if so then click each part with using the ctrl key as well and select all the parts with the same colour.

This is the new materials editor, ive watched the videos but obviously it doesnt go into too much detail on the advanced settings. I wonder if anyone can shed any light on translating this from the old settings to the new one? PS. I ticked to be able to view every setting in this (displacement, specular, transparency).

1. I had yuck colours to begin with.... Have you loaded the latest data file?
2. Have you tried loading default materials?
3. Is it with all appliances and cabinet materials?
4. Is it with existing saved drawings?
5. Is it with new drawings only?

No mate. That box is only highlighted in the colours I had altered. When pressed it turns my alteration back to yellow. I will give ArtiCAD tomorrow. Thanks for your help once again.

Okay no probs..
I am not sure I like all the hiding and placement of options.... it's a bit messy...
Advanced Tab containing a tabs for Reflection, Transparency, Bump, Displacement Idea so things stay where they should:

It is not just AEG appliances for me. It is in new plans as well as old! Another problem I have is a large old plan loaded ok but won't open up the colours tabs and keeps crashing.

Interesting that you can rotate/Manipulate the texture without going into VR mode. That's a plus.

Mingerz, unfortunately you cant see where your shifting or rotating the texture mapping to unlike in vr where it helped to align and position tiling for example! All Guess work now unless i'm missing something!

I take it you still have the old VR method of editing, don't you?

For some reason the mapping controls are gone in mine, not sure if they have taken them out. Hope not!

Is anyone else getting the materials behaving like this in the preview window?..[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I thought it might be old materials/ textures causing it but it happens on new drawings too with the default textures
