ArtiCAD V21 Build 21
Mon Jul 02, 2018 11:40 am
21 21 is now out. I've had a quick play and things are getting better. You can now find a Sketchup model by clicking on it on the plan (like the good old days) just a few weeks ago.

I've got myself on the level 3 training in a couple of weeks (Mon 16th). Quite looking forward to seeing how I should be doing my lighting, textures and sun etc
If I can get a bit better with my final renders, and learn a few tips or tricks, then it will be worth the day out the office.

is that where you have pushed join, rather than input the final wall dimension?

Yes. Any type of join there is no coving or skirting. So if i put exact size of wall so the join is basically zero i get a
line appearing??? Not sure why. Can change how the order where the final join is so this is not seen.

I only get that if the join is next to a door or a straight run.
Join in a corner and it doesn't show
maybe not ideal, but start the plan in a corner each time.
straight run join

Corner join

also let Articad know. If they don't know it won't get fixed. - and this is one i bet most wont notice or report

Yea in corner where it's not seen Not a big deal. Hopefully they can sort out the join with the missing coving and skirting. Who would be a developer eh!!

Haven't swapped over to V21 as of yet, how is the speed looking with the latest build as this is the problem I have seen most on the forums?

It's OK IMO
slight delay from clicking a unit, to highlighting and being able to move, but not enough to be a PITA
though that's with the 'speed fix' update and box ticked in settings. (which may be the default if you install now?)

Re: Missing trims...
Not sure but checking even in V20 there are no options for turning off Coving or Skirting in the Join Edit Properties like we can with other wall elements.... cannot remember if these were ever available in a join?

V21B21. I've been away for a week or so which means I've skipped a couple of updates (!).
I'm now running b21 but the plinths go AWOL when i put a worktop on an island and the cornice overhangs are missing from one side of my towers (so i can't hide my end-panels under them).
Is it the same issue we had way back in the distant past (in ant years) on Build 15 and it has just reared it's butt-ugly head again?
I wondered if anyone else is having the problem?

Minch, haven't you been told before to stay in your own bit of the forum! I know there is a big grin on your face when you read about our plight here on 21!Minch wrote:Kitchen Pete wrote:V21B21. I've been away for a week or so which means I've skipped a couple of updates (!).

Yeah... good point Stumpy....
Where are all the Winner and Autokitchen posts about how good they are Nathan?.... seems very quiet and may have to move those sections to the same place as Virtual Worlds.
Hows importing models going with Winner eh?

I think the easy answer is unfortunately guys . . . it works.
Yeah maybe so we just have to take your word for it then?
What was the point of having two forum sections for Winner then?
Is it a case of it works so what's the point in a forum/s?

Minch wrote:New member of staff. Lots more customers with the trade, updating the showroom, hence not enough time to upload info for Winner. Autokitchen I wish I had more time to use. I have a couple of inframe jobs we've won and I need to find time to get over to Autokitchen and go through these so that I'm not missing anything when I model them. Also, if there are any shortcomings I will then demonstrate these to them and task them with fixing it.
In all honesty though, as you well know, the whole point of the forum was meant to be BETA testing for Articad, despite them not wanting to use it. The fact that most users come to you Daz for ways of getting around the issues with the system is credit to you. I suppose looking on the positive side you could say that Articad is so malleable that there are many different ways to get to the desired effect. However if they put more thought into it then they would make these features available in a far more organised and useable way for the majority of the users.
I understand it takes a bit of our time to post things and I hope you can in the future.... the point about this was originally came about for testing and it maybe would of worked well if more people got on board....
This forum now not just about reporting bugs or problems but also about how to do certain things we didn't know the software could do and what we would like it to do if possible and ideas etc... Like me with TurboCAD.... I am not reporting problems as they have a forum and a very good one for that as you know.
