Sketch up item disappearing

Hi All
I've had this happen a couple of times recently. I work on an older version of Articad (haven't renewed)
When I bring something in from sketch up and change it slightly, save it in a version that suits, all is ok but when I re-open the programme sometimes they aren't there anymore. When I try and put the item back in from the sketch up folder it wont open so I have to re-open sketch up and the item, re-save it over the existing version and as if by magic it appears.
Any ideas?
