Help me make this render better. Textures and lighting.
Sat Dec 16, 2017 12:37 pm
I have a client after a sleek pocket door kitchen, which is to be painted the same colour as the walls in the room.
Cue renders that are not good enough using the stock materials and lighting.
Anyone help me out making these two renders better...
ill save the hosting:

Oh and for the lights I have just used cubic boxes with lit appearance. they look a bit shite, what's the better way of doing it?
and I've just noticed the sink is showing what looks like the carcass below? - maybe I have some heights set wrong?

Hi Mitch
I can have a look at it for you...
Light's which I have mentioned in another topic, are lacking. The problem with using Cubic Boxes is that every face is lit so leads to more noise and a bit of extra render time.

Hi Mitch
The Topic is a request to have lighting Catalogues here - http://www.kbbcad.guru/t129-a-lighting-range-catalogue-please
It is finding a graphic that has a Like the Downlight and a Fluorescent Strip Light (problem with that one is the height of it and depth dims do not change the graphic's size lol). These have a single face to emit the light from pointing down...
Yeah... kit file... zip it up and direct message it to me if you don't want it made public...

Daz is the master! You could also change the laptop screen to lit appearance. Maybe set the diffuse value to between .2 and .4. Also the window - as per Daz's lighting calculator.

Obviously I have missing Graphics as I do not have the Neff Cat and some of the others...
The Default materials are really to diffuse, even matt emulsion has a degree of reflection but the highlights are very spread out using a high glossiness value... So, the wall, ceiling coving and units across the back wall are 2% Sheen level using my new Calculator. It stops the glowing we get when materials are all diffuse so light catches edges and corners etc..

Daz, as we don't have this (amazing btw!) calculator you have created, how does 2% convert to articad? like where would you put this setting and how do you convert it to 2%?

Very impressive Daz.
This is an area that I find I spend a lot of time on is the materials settings and you've seemed to have nailed it with your calculator.
Think I'm more looking forward to this release than version 21.

lol
units and island are going F&B Pitch Black. Dekton gloss black 20mm tops. Walls to be an off white/light grey.
Which i'll draw up.
That calculator you're developing! Daz, looks awesome!

haha how long did that render take? looks sweet though! like the floor.
I think I personally would want a more contrasting worktop, but clients always right......
